Year 9 Rounders
Borough Rounders Tournament - Friday 16th June 2017
Posted 23/06/2017

It was an extremely hot day and the team was excited and ready for the tournament. The first game was against Langley B and with some top fielding we managed to only let them score half a rounder winning the match 7 - 0.5. The winning continued and we beat Bishop Justus 8.5 - 4, followed by beating Bromley High 10.5- 2.5.  The team were developing their fielding skills and tactics throughout the tournament improving communication and teamwork skills. They continued to win the next 4 matches making them pool winners and through to the semi finals. Here we faced Charles Darwin and although we had beat them in the league match, we couldn't quite beat them today making us top 3 overall. A fantastic achievement from the whole team, so many catches and amazing rounders scored. Player of the tournament was Bronte Radford for outstanding catches. Well done.

U12 Rounders at Harris Beckenham
Posted 16/06/17
On Tuesday 13th June, the Year 7 rounders played a match at Harris Beckenham. After winning the toss up we were able to field first. We fought hard with lots of great catches
and stumping lots of people out using the tactic of backstop to 1st base. After the field we started to bat, putting all our practise to the test, we scored many rounders and halves. In the second innings, fighting the heat, we focused on stopping all rolling balls by using a successful long-barrier. After this fantastic field, we risked it all in the bat by taking every chance we could to get those last-minute rounders in. We won this match with 13 – 6 rounders in total. The player of the match was Isabella 7F

Ys 7 and 8 students competed at the Bromley Schools' Athletics Championships at Norman Park.

It was an extremely hot day but all the girls worked hard to produce some excellent results in their individual events.  Out of 22 events we placed in the top 5 for 19 events and 10 students achieved personal bests, a brilliant effort.  Also, all of the students demonstrated great team spirit supporting and helping to coach each other throughout the day.  A special mention has to go to Priyenka Devkota.  In her hurdle event in the heats she hit one of the hurdles at the start, very heavily, it completely knocked her over and she suffered multiple grazes and cuts, but not only did she get back up and carry on, she over took three other athletes to finish strongly and get a place in the final!!
It was an amazing day and Mrs Eason and Miss Eells would like to congratulate everyone who competed.
