ENGINEERING SCHOOL MISSION STATEMENT

To enrich the curriculum with a particular focus on engineering and technology

To broaden horizons in respect of the range of aspects of the application of science that engineering entails, especially with regard to career progression routes

To provide thinking skills through problem solving and so contribute to skills for lifelong learning

To raise standards in design and technology, science and mathematics in support of whole school improvement

To work with other schools and community groups in raising the profile of engineering and science, sharing good practice and promoting social inclusion

To develop innovative teaching strategies with a focus on independent learning and the use of ICT to maximise achievement

To provide opportunities to express and develop creativity both within and beyond the classroom

To fly the flag for women in science and engineering.
